Second Class mail offers excellent value for money. We aim to deliver your mail within three working days of your sending it.

Pay with stamps

One way to pay for Second Class delivery is with stamps. Buy Second Class stamps in book format from the Post Office or in sheets of 100 or rolls of up to 10,000 from our online shop.

Compensation

For items posted with Royal Mail which have no intrinsic value, or where a customer cannot provide evidence of posting, there will be compensation for loss, damage and delay of a minimum of 6 x 1st class stamps at the first weight step. In the event of a compensation claim for loss we will refund the postage paid or 6 x 1st class stamps at the first weight step, whichever is greater.

For lost or damaged items that have an intrinsic value, with proof of posting with Royal Mail (such as a certificate of posting) and proof of value (such as an invoice or receipt) customers will be entitled to a postage refund plus compensation for actual loss up to the value of the item, or £46, whichever is the lowest.
 
Compensation up to £2,500 is also available if you use the Special Delivery™ Next Day service.

Print postage from your PC

If you have a computer and a printer, you can also print and pay for Second Class postage with our online postage service.

Flexible weight and size options

You can send an item up to 1000g using Second Class. Depending on the size and thickness of your item, you can also send your item as a Letter, Large letter or Packet.
